Police are asking the public for help, after the arrest of a former youth coach on one count each of 1st degree child molestation and 2nd degree child molestation.
Bristol Police and Rhode Island State Police officers arrested Jesse S. Perry, 58 in Middletown on Friday. Perry, who once lived in Bristol but now lives in Fall River, Massachusetts and is a teacher at Dighton Middle School, was held over the weekend at the Adult Correctional Institution, and appeared in 6th District Court in Providence Monday, where he was ordered held for a bail hearing January 18.
In a statement, police said that Perry formerly coached for both Bristol Pop Warner Football and Bristol Little League.
Police said that Perry was arrested following an indictment charging his brother, Richard Perry, 55 of Warren with two counts of 1st degree child molestation and two counts of 2nd degree child molestation. Richard Perry was arrested December 13, 2012.
Police did not release details of any of the cases.
Police in Fall River report that when they executed a search warrant at Perry's apartment there following his arrest, they found two pistols and a rifle for which he was not licensed. He is being charged in Massachusetts with possessing a firearm and ammunition without a firearms identification card, and improper storage of a firearm.
Police in Bristol asked the public to come forward if they have any further information regarding the investigation. They suggested that you contact the Bristol Police at 401-253-6900, the Rhode Island State Police at 401-444-1000, or the Fall River Police at 508-676-8511.
