Forbes magazine ranked Rhode Island 49th place in the country to do business but Governor Chafee says that’s not true.
“I take issue with that even being 49th we are the best place to do business and when you factor everything in, the quality of life that we have here you just hear it from so many people. This is where they live. This is where they want to raise their family. This is where they want to do business,” said Chafee.
Chafee said Rhode Island does have some obstacles but it is certainly not the worst in the country. “We have our challenges I don’t deny that but I was just with naval officers that live all over the country in the various Navy bases and they just love Rhode Island. They love coming here whenever the Navy sends them to Newport. This Navy officer was originally from Pascoag, and his wife was from Maryland and they just love Rhode Island. This is the best.”
