PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – Gov. Gina Raimondo is hosting the state’s Veterans Day ceremony.

The Democratic governor will gather with members of the congressional delegation and the state’s other general officers on Monday at the Rhode Island Veterans Home in Bristol to honor those who have served.

Kasim Yarn, the state’s director of veterans affairs, says it’s important to always honor and support veterans. He says that “for us, every day is Veterans Day.”

Yarn and Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea plan to visit several businesses owned by veterans in Rhode Island on Tuesday.

Gorbea says she wants to tell them about what the state offers to help them maintain or expand their companies, such as a business planning tool and free workshops.

More than 65,000 veterans live in Rhode Island.
