JOHNSTON, R.I. (AP) – Four chalices that were stolen from a Roman Catholic church in Rhode Island have been returned.

The chalices, combined worth about $10,000, were stolen from St. Rocco’s church in Johnston last week. Police recovered them mostly intact last weekend from a Providence pawn ship.

St. Rocco’s pastor, the Rev. Angelo Carusi, tells WPRI-TV , he’s glad they were returned in time for All Saints Day on Friday.

One had been sawed in half and police only recovered its base. Carusi said the damaged chalice was given to him by his family when he was ordained.

The 63-year-old man who stole them was caught on surveillance video. Police know who he is but have not yet caught up with him.
