PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – A Rhode Island man faces a charge of threatening Gillette Stadium before the New England Patriots’ regular-season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Tobias Gray appeared in a Rhode Island court on Monday, wearing a New York Giants jersey, on a fugitive from justice charge and charges related to an unrelated domestic assault charge in East Providence.

He did not enter a plea.

He agreed to waive extradition to Massachusetts, where he is wanted by Foxborough police for “making terroristic threats.”

His attorney, Stefanie DiMaio Larivee, said her client apparently made a Facebook post expressing his displeasure at reports that the Patriots signed receiver Antonio Brown. She says Gray took down the post and meant no harm.

Foxborough police had no immediate comment.
