Police seek witnesses to East Bay crash

Barrington Police issued an appeal to anyone who may have witnessed a two-car crash near the East Providence line on Route 114, the Wampanoag Trail, which caused hours-long traffic delays and detours and reportedly left two drivers with serious injuries.

The crash occurred in the southbound lanes at about 8:25 A.M., and a preliminary report from the scene indicated that one car rear-ended another, which was sent into a utility pole, bringing down wires and another utility pole across the highway.

The drivers and their conditions were not immediately known.

Police asked anyone who witnessed the accident to call a confidential tip line 401-437-3933.
