Speaker of the House Nicholas Mattiello (D-Cranston) joined WPRO’s Tara Granahan Thursday to discuss several topics, including the passage of the new evergreen contracts bill, ‘911 fund scooping’ and more.
Mattiello says that since the ‘911 fee’ name has changed to ‘Public Safety’ fee, those funds don’t need to be directly assigned to the 911 system, arguing that it would not be ideal for the funds to go directly to one agency without the checks and balances of oversight.
