WPRO’s Tara Granahan to receive Gracie Award

WPRO’s Tara Granahan has been awarded a Gracie Award from the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation.

The Gracies recognize exemplary programming created by, for and about women in radio, television, cable and interactive media.  Honorees are selected in national, local and student markets, including both commercial and non-commercial outlets. Named after the late Gracie Allen, the Gracie Awards acknowledge outstanding team leadership and individual achievement. The Gracies focus on women who are making positive change and who further the discussion of what a fulfilling career in media looks like.

Tara wins this year alongside other honorees such as Debra Messing, Leah Remini, Robin Roberts, Savannah Guthrie, and Cumulus’ Jillian Barbarie, to name a few.

“I’ve always loved to tell a story, debate the issues and hear people laugh,” said Tara. “To be rewarded for that is such a bonus!  I’m so thankful to Cumulus and WPRO listeners, my family and friends; to be included in this group of women? …Amazing!”

The award ceremony is June 26 in NYC.

Congratulations, Tara!
