PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A son of the late Rhode Island mobster Frank “Bobo” Marrapese Jr. has been arrested and charged with murder in the death of his ex-girlfriend.
Michael Marrapese was arrested Wednesday after police found the body of 29-year-old Lauren Ise at a Cranston apartment the estranged couple previously shared.
Providence Police Maj. David Lapatin says they found the body after receiving a tip from a caller.
Lapatin did not disclose how the woman died.
Court documents show the 40-year-old Marrapese had filed a protective order against Ise earlier in March.
Marrapese is scheduled for arraignment Thursday. It could not be determined if he had a lawyer.
His brother, Frank Marrapese III, has filed a lawsuit against Cranston police and others over his arrest on a warrant for his father.
