Prosecutors: Hells Angels member found with drugs, weapons

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – A man described by federal authorities as a full member of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club has been detained in Rhode Island on drug and gun charges.

The U.S. attorney says 54-year-old Douglas Leedham was detained on Friday after a court-authorized search of his North Providence home yielded 44 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 19 grams of cocaine, two handguns and a 12-gauge shotgun, knives, hatchets and items used in the packaging and distribution of drugs.

Authorities also found clothing, memorabilia and documents they say establishes his membership in the Hells Angels.

Prosecutors say Leedham was previously convicted of carrying a pistol without a license.

No attorney was listed for Leedham in court documents.
