PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A well-known Rhode Island adult entertainment club will remain closed for several more days as police and city officials investigate allegations of prostitution at the site.

The Providence Board of Licenses voted Thursday night to keep the Foxy Lady closed through Monday, when the board meets again.

The club was closed Tuesday after three dancers were arrested for allegedly offering to perform sex acts for $300 to undercover police officers. Police say the dancers were operating with the knowledge of club management.

Foxy Lady manager Richard Angell said management was unaware of any alleged prostitution.

Club attorney Fausto Anguilla argued the club should be allowed to remain open given the intense scrutiny it is now under.

Mayor Jorge Elorza says he’d like to see the club’s license to operate revoked
