PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – Providence police say a group of masked men broke into a city home and tied up the homeowners before ransacking the house.

Police say they were called to the scene early Friday morning, where residents told police a group of four to five masked and armed suspects forced their way into the home. Authorities say the suspect tied up all the people home at the time, including three children.

A man living in the home was also punched in the face. The suspects made off with cash, jewelry and cellphones.

The home invasion was very similar to other home invasions in Providence in recent weeks – in all cases involving a group of armed, masked suspects.

Police have not made any arrests.
