My name is Barbara Kimura and I am writing this to bring awareness of a disease that is destroying her life.
Her name is Marcy Black and she has been diagnosed at Cleveland Clinic first several years ago with “Systemic Scleroderma. She had become worse so we then went to Mayo Clinic, MN where she was diagnosed with “Mixed Connective Tissue Disease” which Scleroderman and Lupus has been her main problems. But all during this she started to have dismotility issues. She also has “Autonomic Dysfunction.” Her disease(s) are complex and multilayered. She has developed two major digestive issues from “Small Bowel Dusmotility and Chronic Idiopathic Pseudo-Obstuction (CIP.) They’re both considered rare disease by the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD.) Her body becomes swollen and bloated with no relief. She has been on (TPN) feeding line for more then a year and a half and many other treatments. She is no longer able to travel or afford trips to Mayo Clinic, hotels travel and any other items her insurance doesn’t cover. I have started a couple of internet fund me, such as “gofundme.com under “Marcy’s Medical Support”. She received a small amount and everything has stopped for in order to boast this site they more  money which will come out of her donations, needless to say the amount would be quite a bit. She is an RN and had to go on disability in 2009. During the duration of 2 years she lost her job, her 17 year old son died and her husband, who had to take care of finantial responsibility took all monies and left. She was a single mom of two sons and doing extremely well when she remarried. She owned her home, credit rating was excellent and had many different savings accounts. During this grief her health deteriorated. She has lost her insurance, except Medicare and a small amount her husband has to pay her each month which will no longer continue in another year. She has finally found housing but is worried for her future, being able to meet expenses, treatments that her Drs. have recommended that is not covered by insurance. Her insurance is very expensive and she has little choice but to carry this for otherwise she will be unable to continue seeing the Specialist she needs and so many different treatments and testing. She also needs travel expenses and hotels when she travels to Mass General Hospital for her testing takes sometimes more then a day or/and she has appts. with Drs. that keeps her from traveling back home to RI.
I know there are many different Charities that are most deserving as I was a volunteer for JDRF after I lost my son. He had a hypoglysemic attack and went off a 350′ cliff in California. We could view one hand to say goodbye.
Now, seeing my daughter go through this horrible disease it is heart wrenching! Because of her disease and the rarity of this, I am hoping you can discussed this on your show. Her telephone number is: (401)230-8107 and her email is: mebreal4@verizon.net.  Thank you for listening. A mom

I have been listening to Dr. Peterruti for the last 5 months. He discusses how he helps patients in weight loss but has not provided any tips. It seems that the full hour of the program is an advertisement for his practice. Please offer tips on your show.

Anray Hello, we just completed our 11th show after starting in June! It’s great to hear feedback on what we can do to improve since this is a new venue for us. I will pass this along to Dr. Petteruti. Thanks!

Thank you. I have been listening to Dr. Petteruti’s program since he started and it seemed much longer than June. I look forward to hearing tips on weight management for those of us that have tried every imaginable diet or method to maintain and/or lose weight.
